The gray and dreary, snowy and cold days of January and February are behind us….
This was a long, hard winter for a lot of folks…it seems that all most of us did these past two months was shovel snow, plow snow and snow blow snow….feet and feet of snow!!
SNOW SNOW SNOW
Good riddance February…I for one am so Happy to see you go!!
Hello March, I WELCOME you with open arms…and joyfully await those little perks that will be riding in on your coattails…. more sunshine, brighter, longer, warmer days, …
melting(our gargantuan piles of)snow…
and….soon, very soon….
I know…I know… we will no doubt, have more snow - but “March-April snow” …well, somehow, is not the same as “January-February” snow….
Oh- don’t get me wrong, I don’t ‘hate’ winter-I enjoy the seasonal changes, I can appreciate winter [MINUS the ‘feet’ upon ‘feet’ of snow], after all without the bleak days of winter what would we have to look forward to?
I am Merrily

-It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade. ~Charles Dickens

So with March here and Spring approaching:
I’ve been going through my favorite seed catalogs…planning what will go into the vegetable garden this year…
I’m so looking forward to getting out there and working my flower beds too…seeing what’s happening over at my pond, watching my fish slowly come back to life after their long dormancy (which is sorta how I feel too…)
It’s still some time away…we still have quite a bit of snow on the ground here, then of course comes the season of muck and mud…
-The first day of spring is one thing, and the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month. ~Henry Van Dyke
But there are little signs showing up every day now, showing me that Spring is indeed on it’s way
With March now here and Spring upon us:
I’m doing my Springtime cleaning and ‘planting’ some little bursts of bright & cheery Spring throughout the home…
Nothing celebrates “MARCH” and “SPRING”
What could possibly be more Welcoming, than my Hospitality Pineapple door box dressed with Lucky Shamrocks…
…. a sweet springy way to greet a friend
A little touch of green tucked in here and there brings on a much desired glimmer of spring.
a sprig of greens tucked in a jug
in a wall box on top of my shelf. It doesn’t take much to brighten a room!
(Oh-look I have some ivy in my door box in the picture…that was my ‘after the holidays-before spring’ door box dressing!)
Springtime Stems and a wreath of White Heather
Greens and flowers just make everything cheerful and give the sense of freshness after the long, dull, monochrome months of winter
I filled my olde wooden bucket with a large bunch of Button Leaf stems
With March Comes:
A fresh, new, untouched growth of Spring bulbs…their beautiful, bright colors… splashed here and there
Daffodils are always a welcome sign of Spring in my gardens. Crocuses, Tulips, Hyacinth…those little tiny bulbs, dormant…just waiting to emerge from their long winters nap…how can they not make you happy, give you hope…make you smile?
Springtime means Fresh Beginnings…
Sheep are having their little lamb babies now…
Sheep, for some reason always remind me of Spring and Easter…
Spring and Easter remind me of…
new beginnings. Of, HOPE!
Hanging in my kitchen…
A simple Grapevine Basket filled with some more greens
Just a nice little pop of happy!
No such thing as too many greens or too much Happy!
-Springtime is the land awakening. The March winds are the morning yawn.
-It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
With Springtime just around the corner I’ve decided make a few changes!
Fresh paint - new colors and textures!
Here’s a few hints of what I’ve been up to in the dining room
Below is my ‘dining room storyboard’:
I do this to get all my colors/tones and textures to come together. I like a visual and this just helps me when planning a room makeover.
Everything in this one photo is part of my makeover project!
You’ll have to c’mon back and see what I’ve been working on….I’m not quite finished!!
Just a few little things left to do!
Oh…I can’t wait for the big reveal!!
Well, it’s big for me…Seems like I’ve been working on this project for quite a while-I’m happy that it’s just about complete!!
Here’s one more peek…
Hope you’ll stop back to see how the room turns out!!!
Have a most wonderful weekend—thanks ever so much for stopping by!
Springtime Blessings to you!
